At a time when Marseille-Provence is getting ready to honour its title of "European Capital of Culture 2013", a group of local citizens has got together to participate in this new wave of energy, not as professionals, but as simple inhabitants.

Passionately in love with their town and region, open to other cultures and keen advocates of international tourism, they wish to share their homeland, take part in its evolution, reveal its history and unveil its keys to those wishing to share them.

They have got together to form the Marseille Provence Greeters (MP Greeters): an association with a different approach to tourism, in which local citizens are genuine ambassadors of their town, keen to open its doors, share its secrets and give visitors a chance to live it from their personal angle.
